On Dec. 1, the University of Iowa Foundation will celebrate Giving Tuesday with Gold Tuesday, a day to support the UI.

Giving Tuesday is a global day of philanthropy that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage giving and to celebrate generosity worldwide.

Giving Tuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Giving Tuesday kicks off the holiday giving season and inspires people to collaborate to improve their local communities and to give back, in impactful ways, to the charities and causes they support.

UI faculty, staff, friends, and alumni can support the UI on Gold Tuesday by visiting the UI Foundation Black Friday Gold Tuesday website.

The UI Foundation is the preferred channel for private contributions that benefit all areas of the UI. The university’s dedicated contributors fund a broad array of needs, from student scholarships, breakthrough research, and life-changing health care to innovative facilities, community outreach, and global education.
