The Missouri State Teachers' Association named alumnus Dale Whitacre (B.A. '01) the educator of the year for Northeast Missouri.

Whitacre teaches social studies and coaches baseball at Green City R-I High School in Green City, Missouri.

He studied political science and history and received his Iowa Education Licensure at the University of Iowa.
