It’s been a tradition since 1912. Now, the University of Iowa is preparing to celebrate Homecoming. This year’s theme is “Gold and Black Take Me Back.”

The festivities will start with Volunteer Day—a new Homecoming event—on Saturday, Oct. 4, and the Celebrating Cultural Diversity Festival on Sunday, Oct. 5. This year's festival will also feature a new element—a Carnaval parade, which will start at Hubbard Park at 11 am. The Homecoming celebration will end with the Hawkeyes taking on Indiana University on Saturday, Oct. 11, at Kinnick Stadium. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m.
