Spring is always greeted with welcome arms on campus, but this year's frigid Midwestern winter has made the change in temperatures even more inviting for embraces in Iowa City.
The University of Iowa Office of the Provost and the UI Division of Student Life decided to ring in the welcome shift in seasons by handing out some summer necessities on the Pentacrest the afternoon of Thursday, April 10. Students were able to grab a pair of UI sunglasses, colorful flip flops, and a Dairy Queen Dilly Bar on their way to and from classes.
Future forecasts signal that spring may have finally arrived in the Midwest, with summer just around the corner. Sunglasses, flip flops, and ice cream will hopefully be regular needs on campus in the coming days, rather than stocking caps, gloves, and hot chocolate.
