UI physician Terry Wahls will discuss her new book about overcoming progressive MS through diet at an upcoming UI Alumni Association (UIAA) event in Des Moines.
The event takes place on Sunday, April 6, at 2:30 p.m. at the Des Moines Public Library, 1000 Grand Ave., Des Moines as part of the UIAA’s ongoing Lifelong Learning series.
Wahls, who was diagnosed with secondary progressive multiple sclerosis and used a wheelchair for four years, will tell her remarkable story of recovery and research into the healing power of intensive nutrition. After the presentation and interactive discussion, she will be available to sign purchased copies of her new book, The Wahls Protocol: How I Beat Progressive MS Using Paleo Principles and Functional Medicine.
The event is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served. Please register on the UIAA website by noon on Wednesday, April 2.
