The University of Iowa Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) will be conducting an exercise at the Ashton Cross Country Course—adjacent to the Hawkeye Commuter parking lot, the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Center, and the intramural fields on the west side of campus—from 3:30 to 5:45 p.m. Thursday, March 6, weather permitting.
The cadets will be dressed in traditional camouflaged army combat uniforms and will carry nonfunctional, replica weapons. Around 30 to 35 students are expected to participate in the exercise.
A second exercise is scheduled for Thursday, March 27 at the same location.
“These exercises are vital to ensuring that cadets remain competitive with their peers across the United States,” says Army Master Sgt. David Stoen. “We appreciate the efforts of the University of Iowa in supporting our cadets as they prepare for off-campus training.”
