The University of Iowa School of Music will present a free performance by the University of Nebraska Brass Quintet at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, in Riverside Recital Hall on the UI campus.

The program will feature:

  • Dance by Wilke Renwick
  • Suite Francais by Eugene Bozza
  • Brass Quintet op.65 by Jan Koetsier
  • Four Movements for Five Brass by Collier Jones
  • Four Outings by Andre Previn

The University of Nebraska Brass Quintet is composed of Scott Quackenbush and K. Craig Bircher, trumpets; Alan Mattingly, horn; Scott Anderson, trombone; and Craig Fuller, tuba. All are faculty from the University of Nebraska. Two members of the group are full-time performers in the Omaha Symphony and each member has played with orchestras, in jazz combos, in brass and woodwind quintets, and other ensembles throughout the United States and Europe.

As a component of the chamber music program at the University of Nebraska, the quintet is dedicated to the performance of original repertoire works and new music for brass quintet.

The School of Music is part of the Division of Performing Arts in the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
