University of Iowa students, faculty and staff, and the general public can learn the basics of rowing during classes sponsored by UI Recreational Services' Hawkeye Community Rowing.

The 3-hour classes will cover technique, terminology, and more. Classes will be offered on Sunday, Oct. 20, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 2, 1-4 p.m.

All ages 14 and older are welcome to participate, pending completion of a swim test at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center prior to the event.

Registration can be completed at any Recreational Services’ membership desk. The cost is $20.
