People visiting the University of Iowa booth in the Iowa State Fair's William C. Knapp Varied Industries Building love more than just the free football posters and the temporary Tigerhawk tattoos. Want proof? UI sophomore Sam Wampler, 19, of Champaign, Ill., asks a variety of fair-goers what they love about the UI.

The fair runs through Sunday, Aug. 18. “Hometown Hawkeyes” is the theme of a new UI exhibit at this year’s air. Life-sized photos of Hawkeye alumni living and leading in Iowa cities grace the exhibit’s walls to highlight how they are contributing to the vibrancy of Iowa life and culture.

The UI also uses the exhibit space to tout its educational programs, research, service, and athletics.
