There's good news on University of Iowa student drinking rates! All will be revealed at the bi-monthly meeting of the Partnership for Alcohol Safety Wednesday, July 10, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Room 2390 of the University Capitol Centre in downtown Iowa City.
The meeting is open to the public.
Kelly Bender, UI campus-community harm reduction initiatives coordinator, will present UI student drinking data based on the 2013 National College Health Assessment. Bender will also provide other updates, including alcohol-free entertainment options, a Party Patrol Communication Campaign, and a town hall meeting with the Iowa Alcoholic Beverage Division on July 24.
Brooke Hofmeyer, a practicum student with Johnson County Public Health, will also present information on her alcohol-related violence data collection project.
The Partnership for Alcohol Safety is a joint project of the University of Iowa and the City of Iowa City. Its mission is to identify and advocate for strategies that reduce high-risk drinking and promote a vibrant downtown.
