Another wet weekend is on the horizon, with as much as 2 inches possible in the Iowa River basin through Saturday night.

In spite of the potential for rain, the numbers for Coralville Lake and the Iowa River continue to move in a positive direction.

The lake’s current elevation is 702.84 feet (or 51.45 percent of its capacity), with inflow at 8,120 cubic feet per second (cfs), and outflow at 14,200 cfs (15,400 cfsin the river at the Burlington Street gauge).

The U.S. Corps of Engineers plans to reduce the outflow from the lake to 12,000 cfs today and down to 10,000 cfs by Saturday, weather permitting.

Meanwhile, the City of Iowa City will make a decision Saturday whether it can reopen Dubuque Street by early next week.

The University of Iowa is also beginning plans to reopen Beckwith Boathouse as early as next week.
