A curator from the African American Museum of Iowa will speak about African Americans during the Civil War and the Underground Railroad at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at the University of Iowa Old Capitol Museum.
Lynn Koos will discuss the development of the Underground Railroad nationwide and focus on the people and places that were affected throughout Iowa. Her 6:30 p.m. presentation is free and open to the public. The talk is in conjunction with the current exhibit, Gone to See the Elephant: The Civil War through the Eyes of Iowa Soldiers.
