The University of Iowa’s Hancher will present pre-eminent jazz vocalist Dianne Reeves on Friday, Dec. 7, at 7:30 p.m. at the Riverside Casino & Golf Resort Event Center. Reeves will perform her "Christmas Time is Here" program.

Reeves is a four-time Grammy winner who has previously appeared twice in Hancher-presented concerts. She is well known for her onscreen vocal performances in the movie Good Night, and Good Luck. The New York Times says of her live performances: “Grandeur with refinement: that describes the aura of Dianne Reeves.”

The performance will be almost six years to the day since her last Hancher concert, which was also a holiday show and was enjoyed by more than 1,600 people.

Her 2012 concert, which is the last Hancher show of the year, is supported by Peter and Ellie Densen, the Hancher Partners, and gifts to Hancher Circle through the UI Foundation.

Tickets are $40 and $30 for non-students; $36 and $10 for college students; $36 and $27 for seniors; and $20 and $10 for youth. Tickets are available from the Hancher Box Office, located on the first floor of the south end of the Old Capitol Mall near the parking ramp. The Hancher Box Office is open for phone (319-335-1160 or 800-HANCHER) or walk-up business from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays. Tickets may be ordered online at www.hancher.uiowa.edu. Any remaining tickets will be available for sale one hour before show time at the Riverside Casino & Golf Resort Event Center.
