Museum of Natural History offers readings for elementary kids, families
Friday, September 7, 2012

The UI Museum of Natural History continues its fall series “Storytime Adventures” at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16. This month’s featured animal is the flamingo. The event is free and open to the public and features stories and hands-on activities that are geared toward elementary school-aged children and their families.

The series takes place the third Sunday of each month and uses readings to explore animals and the environment in Iowa and around the world. Readings are followed by related activities to do at the museum and at home. Please call ahead for groups larger than 10 participants.

The UI Museum of Natural History features four permanent galleries exploring natural history and emerging scientific research in Iowa and beyond. For more information about the UI Museum of Natural History or the Storytime Adventures series call Sarah Horgen at 319-335-0606 or visit
