Several University of Iowa community members will take the stage prior to President Barack Obama's speech at the UI Field House:

Scott Lyon, law student, U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in Iraq, and vice president of the UI Student Veterans Association, will lead the Pledge of Allegiance.

Jaqueline Lang will perform the National Anthem. Lang is a UI graduate student in music and a frequent vocal performer.

Kevin Kummer will present the invocation. Kummer is campus minister with InterVarsity USA Christian Fellowship in Iowa City. He serves as chairman of the Association of Campus Ministers.

UI President Sally Mason will welcome President Obama to campus.

Finance student Blake Anderson—one of a small group of students who met with Obama prior to his speech—will introduce the president.
