The University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop will present a free reading by two visiting faculty members -- poet Dora Malech and fiction writer Andrew Sean Greer -- at 8 p.m. Friday, March 23, in the Frank Conroy Reading Room of the Dey House on the UI campus.

Malech, an alumna of the Workshop, is the author of the collections Shore Ordered Ocean and Say So. Her poems have appeared in publications that include The New Yorker, Poetry, and Best New Poets. Recipient of a Ruth Lilly Poetry Fellowship, she has taught writing at Saint Mary's College of California and Victoria University in New Zealand, and she directs the arts outreach program the Iowa Youth Writing Project.

Greer is the bestselling author of The Story of a Marriage, and The Confessions of Max Tivoli, which was named a best book of 2004 by the San Francisco Chronicle and the Chicago. His first novel, The Path of Minor Planets, and his story collection, How It Was for Me, were also published to wide acclaim.

His stories have appeared in many national publications and have been anthologized most recently in The Book of Other People and Best American Nonrequired Reading.
