A research team led by Scott Bounds, associate research scientist in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, will launch sounding rockets as part of NASA's Aurora Current and Electrodynamics Structures II, or ACES II, mission. The mission will measure the global electric circuit underlying the northern lights.
