Joel Worford released the album Thoughts for Breakfast under the artist name Whitney & The Saying Goes in 2021. Composed of nine songs written by himself, Thoughts for Breakfast combines soul, blues, alternative rock, jazz, americana, gospel and funk music. Joel has performed at numerous venues and restaurants around Richmond, Virginia, opened for the band American Authors at the Englert Theater in the fall of 2024, and has toured the east coast. He is a graduate student at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop.

Every Saturday from May 3rd to Sept. 27, The Englert Theater will host programming for its Northside Saturday Nights series. Sponsored by Suzanne Stock and Urban Acres, this FREE music series promises to ignite the Northside community with outdoor performances from talented local artists. Grab a seat at any of the available tables on the Northside Outside street or bring your own chairs. Whether you’re a music enthusiast or just looking for a fun evening out, this event guarantees something special for everyone.

Additional support for the music series comes from Phoebe Martin Realtor and KCL Engineering.
