Anton Kruger, Dan Matheson, Daniel Weeks, and Rachel Williams have won the 2016 President and Provost Award for Teaching Excellence in recognition of their years of outstanding teaching.

Richard Burton, professor in the UI College of Dentistry, has assumed the role of president of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS). This one-year commitment represents the seventh of his eight years of service with the ABOMS board of directors.

President Barack Obama recently named Glenbard East High School Dean Mike Fumagalli a recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Fumagalli earned a bachelor's degree in athletic training and a master's degree in science education from the University of Iowa.

University of Iowa professor David Cwiertny has been selected to serve as minority staff for the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce.

The grant, called a Special Interests Project (SIP), is awarded by the Prevention Research Centers program office at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The Iowa Access to Justice Commission (IAJC), was established by the Iowa Supreme Court on June 27, 2016 to identify the legal needs of low-income Iowans and propose recommendations for innovative ways to improve access to justice for those who cannot afford legal counsel.
