Some 280 undergraduate students at the University of Iowa were named to the President's List for the 2012 spring semester. The President's List recognizes academic excellence. A student must have a minimum 4.0 grade point average in all academic subjects for the preceding two semesters, with a total of at least 12 semester hours of credit during that period, to qualify.

Englander wins O'Connor Prize

Iowa Writers' Workshop alumnus Nathan Englander is the winner of the Frank O'Connor International Short Story Award. The 25,000 euro prize is one of the richest and most prestigious prizes for short story writing. Another of the finalists was International Writing Program alumnus Etgar Keret.
