First candidate announced for College of Engineering dean

A University of Iowa search committee has announced the first finalist for dean of the College of Engineering.

Robert Bertini

Robert L. Bertini is professor and head of the School of Civil Construction Engineering at Oregon State University in Corvallis. He has held academic positions at the University of South Florida, Portland State University, and California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo, and has led two national university transportation research centers.

Bertini will meet with faculty, staff, students, shared governance, and campus leadership during a campus visit May 1—2. He will participate in an open forum from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, in S401 Pappajohn Business Building, 21 E.
