The University of Iowa welcomed students back to campus for the start of the fall 2021 semester and celebrated the return to an in-person experience with numerous OnIowa! events to help get them acclimated to campus.
Black and gold could be seen everywhere in anticipation of the start of classes on Monday, Aug. 23, which coincided with one of very few thunderstorms to pass through Iowa City this summer.
But Hawkeyes are resilient, and they braved the rain to return to their classrooms in person for the first time in two years.
Welcome back, everyone, and have a great semester. Remember that wearing your masks and getting your vaccine are strongly encouraged in order to help keep the Hawkeye community safe.
