The University of Iowa is ranked among the top universities in the world in 11 subjects in a new survey by the Times of London and Wall Street Journal published Oct. 28.

The rankings were determined by analyzing data in five categories—teaching, research, scholarly citations, international outlook, and industry income. Universities were ranked by subject, with the top 100 schools in each category ranked individually, and included in groupings after that. Rankings included data from both undergraduate and graduate programs.

The university’s highest ranked subject was education, where it was ranked 99. Other subjects and Iowa’s ranking in them include:

  • Clinical and health, 101-125
  • Law, 176-200
  • Psychology, 176-200
  • Computer science, 201-250
  • Business and economics, 251-300
  • Life sciences, 251-300
  • Physical sciences, 251-300
  • Arts and humanities, 301-400
