Dentistry professor honored for contributions to evidence-based dentistry

A faculty member in the College of Dentistry won a mid-career award for evidence-based dentistry.
Satheesh Elangovan, professor in the Department of Periodontics, will receive an award and honorarium in recognition of his contributions to implement and advance evidence-based dentistry.
The award was announced by the the American Dental Association and the American Association for Dental Research. In the announcement, the dental associations say Elangovan, who is co-assistant director of the college’s dental student research program, “has mentored numerous students on evidence-based dentistry projects that resulted in conference presentations and publications in peer-reviewed journals.”
