The University of Iowa search committee for the new dean of the Tippie College of Business has selected three final candidates. The candidates will participate in virtual visits over the next two weeks to participate in public forums and meet with faculty, staff, and leadership at Tippie.

The dates of the virtual campus visits and times of the open forums are as follows:

For additional security, the Office of the Provost is asking faculty, staff, and students who wish to participate in an open forum send an email to provost-office@uiowa.edu and indicate the forum(s) in which they would like to participate. Participants will be given a password to access the forums.

The name of each candidate will be announced the day before the start of their virtual visit. At that time, the candidate’s curriculum vitae will be made available on the Tippie dean search website.

The Tippie dean search began in January 2020 after Sarah Gardial announced she was leaving Iowa to become dean of the Massey College of Business at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, effective March 1, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting closure of campus and travel ban, the search was relaunched in June 2020.

Senior Associate Dean and Henry B. Tippie Research Professor of Management Amy Kristof-Brown was named interim dean in November 2019.

The search committee is co-chaired by Amy Colbert, professor and department executive officer of management and entrepreneurship in the Tippie College of Business, and Alec Scranton, professor and former dean of the College of Engineering.

The committee has selected the search firm Witt-Kieffer to assist with the process.
