The University of Iowa Museum of Natural History was awarded a $17,900 grant through the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs' Historical Resource Development Program for critical collections storage upgrades.

The grant will allow the museum's mammal research collections, which are not displayed in Mammal Hall, to be moved out of old cabinets and into state-of-the-art metal cabinets in a climate controlled room, joining the recently rehoused bird collection in a compactor storage system on the ground floor.
