A university search committee has announced the first candidate for the new associate vice president of diversity, equity, and inclusion at the University of Iowa.

Meenakshi Gigi Durham, associate dean for outreach and engagement and director of diversity in the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and professor and Collegiate Scholar in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, will visit campus Thursday and Friday, March 7 and 8.

An open forum will take place from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 7, in room W401 of the Pappajohn Business Building.

The name of each candidate invited to campus will be announced one day prior to their visit. The campus community is encouraged to provide feedback to the search committee through the committee’s website.
