Reams has been at Iowa for more than 10 years, most recently serving as associate dean of students and director of Student Care & Assistance, which provides support to students experiencing crises or emergency situations.

Reams’s leadership experience also includes co-directing the Early Intervention Team, serving as a core member of the Threat Assessment Team and the Campus Inclusion Team, coordinating the Admissions Review Committee, and serving on a variety of committees focused on expanding assistance, programs, and resources that support student success.

“Angie has done an outstanding job as part of the leadership team in the Office of the Dean of Students and is an integral member of the Division of Student Life,” says Vice President for Student Life Melissa Shivers. “She brings a deep understanding of the importance of student success and the myriad ways we can support the student experience. I appreciate her willingness to help lead the division’s units through this important transition."

The Division of Student Life concluded the search for an associate vice president and dean of students in November but was unsuccessful in hiring the candidate recommended by the search committee. The division will determine next steps regarding the search later in the spring semester.
