The University of Iowa search committee for the new dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences has announced the first finalist for the position.

Sacha E. Kopp, professor of physics and former dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the State University of New York at Stony Brook*, will visit campus Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 15 and 16.

You can view Kopp’s curriculum vitae on the CLAS dean search website.

An open forum will take place from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, in the Voxman Music Building Concert Hall (room 2101).

The name of each candidate invited to campus will be announced one day prior to his or her public forum. The campus community is encouraged to provide feedback to the search committee through the committee website.

For more information, visit the CLAS dean search website.

*Editor's note: This posting was updated to reflect that Kopp is the former dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Stony Brook and not the current dean.
