Looking for a way to stay active and enjoy the sunny days of summer? Look no further than liveWELL’s 2018 Walking Scavenger Hunt.

The Walking Scavenger Hunt runs through Aug. 31 and encourages employees to be active by walking all over campus hunting for nine landmarks. This year the hunt gives employees the opportunity to explore stunning facilities such as Voxman Music Building, Catlett Residence Hall, and Hancher Auditorium.

Once employees reach a landmark, they will find a bonus-code question—if you answer it correctly, you will earn points toward prizes at the Wellness Store. Faculty and staff of the University of Iowa are eligible to earn liveWELL points to use in the Wellness Store, but the Walking Scavenger Hunt encourages participants to invite family, friends, or coworkers to join in the fun as well.

The Walking Scavenger Hunt is designed to promote walking on both the east and west sides of campus, so employees can explore the University of Iowa’s hidden gems. This self-paced scavenger hunt is a great way to take a break from work, find a coworker to team up with, and get active. Past reviews from the 2017 Walking Scavenger Hunt said the scavenger hunt “is a great way to increase physical activity, build relationships with colleagues, get out the office for a bit, and see new areas of campus.”

Employees are encouraged to take pictures with the art highlighted throughout the scavenger hunt. This is a great way to invite friends, family, and coworkers on your adventures and to document the memories you make along the way. After taking these photos, participants can email them to liveWELL to be posted on social media pages. Participants also will be entered in a monthly drawing for 1,000 liveWELL points.
