University of Iowa Interim Provost Sue Curry has named Sarah Gardial, dean of the Henry B. Tippie College of Business, and David Ryfe, director of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, to serve as co-chairs of the search committee for a new dean for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS).

On June 30, Chaden Djalali will step down as dean of CLAS, a position he’s held since 2012. Interim Provost Curry will announce an interim dean this spring and anticipates inviting final candidates to campus in the fall.
