Jeff Schott, director of the University of Iowa’s Institute of Public Affairs (IPA), has been granted lifetime member status in the Iowa City/County Management Association.

Schott has directed the IPA since 2006, working with hundreds of local governments; appointing officials and elected leaders across Iowa to help them learn about such important municipal functions as strategic planning and goal setting; providing professional development, training, and educational programs; and hosting an annual conference at the UI for the state’s municipal managers. He works often with the association to develop these programs.

Before that, Schott was the city manager of Marion, Iowa, for 20 years.
