University of Iowa faculty and staff are vital to the health and well being of our local area, and United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties can be a key partner in continuing to mutually strengthen our community.

Our priorities are very similar. The University of Iowa provides economic stability, educational excellence, and world-class health facilities. United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties fights for the financial stability, education, and health of every person in our community.

We Win by Living United

United Way has established relationships with businesses, nonprofits, and the public sector as well as individual donors just like you. Collectively, we take seriously the responsibility to help people in need in our community, bridging the gaps so everyone can have a quality education leading to stable jobs with sustainable income to support family and good health.

To be successful, United Way wants to inspire more people to give and volunteer by matching their interests and expertise to needs. Join the 2017 United Way campaign by volunteering, by becoming a new donor, or by increasing your current United Way gift.

Giving to the United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties makes sense. You can direct your gift or invest in long-term solutions to existing problems. Keeping a watchful eye on your financial contribution, United Way committees annually review 32 partner agencies’ measurable impact and fiscal stability. For over half of these partners, United Way also serves as the primary local fundraiser.

United Way widens the circle and serves as the venue for you not only to support the vetted agencies but also to select any verified 501(C)(3) organization. With access to a worldwide network that can provide best practices, United Way strives to ensure the most critical health and human services are available locally.
