The Division of Continuing Education announces Laura Sinn, a fourth-year student from Williamsburg, Iowa, in the Bachelor of Liberal Arts (BLS) degree program, as the 2017 Robert F. Ray Staff Scholarship awardee.

Sinn has worked at the University of Iowa since 1999 and is currently a project manager responsible for course coordination in Distance and Online Education.

The scholarship fund was established in honor of the late Robert F. Ray, former dean of the Division of Continuing Education. It annually provides $2,000 in support to a UI staff member who is in the process of completing an undergraduate degree. Applicants must be employed by the UI at least half time and for not less than one year from the date of application and must remain employed during the period of the scholarship.
