Jeri King, assistant director of University of Iowa Facilities Management, and Erin Marsh, construction project specialist in Facilities Management, were among award recipients honored during the 2017 APPA: Leadership in Educational Facilities Conference held July 22 in San Francisco.

APPA announced the designation of King as an APPA fellow. She is the 16th APPA fellow—and the second female—to receive this designation. The award recognizes her contribution to the educational facilities community through her numerous published articles, service, and research. King has served on the MAPPA (the Midwest region of APPA) and APPA boards and committees, including a term as APPA vice president of information research, presented at various conferences, and is the editor of a book, Effective and Innovative Practices for the Strategic Facilities Manager.

Marsh received the APPA President’s Unsung Hero Award for her exceptional membership recruitment and retention efforts as chair of the APPA Membership Committee. Marsh served as the MAPPA Membership Iowa Representative from 2013 until 2015, when she took over as the MAPPA membership chair.
