Hien Nguyen, associate professor in chemistry at the University of Iowa, has been selected for an award from the American Chemical Society. The society's Division of Carbohydrate Chemistry honored Nguyen with the 2018 Horace S. Isbell Award in Carbohydrates, which will be given at the 2018 Spring American Chemical Society National Meeting in New Orleans.

The award acknowledges "excellence in and promise of continued quality of contribution to research in carbohydrate chemistry" by a scientist under the age of 45.
