The 45th running of the Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa, RAGBRAI, started in Orange City on Sunday, July 23. This year's 411-mile route crossed the northern part of the state. The University of Iowa was well represented during the ride, with black and gold everywhere. Photo by Tim Schoon.

As RAGBRAI riders traveled from one side of Iowa to the other—Orange City to Lansing—there was black and gold everywhere. Cyclists sported the colors on their kits, and Herky and the Iowa Spirit Squad mingled with fans and friends of the University of Iowa.
