Don Brathwaite, a graduate student in the department of epidemiology at the University of Iowa College of Public Health, was elected to be the National Black Graduate Student Association (NBGSA)’s North Central Regional Representative at the organization’s 29th national conference in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Brathwaite will help NBGSA enhance the academic, professional, personal, and social development of African Americans in higher education as the organization works to increase effective recruitment, progression, graduation, and achievement for all students who identify as black at institutions across the nation.
