Six people have been selected to receive 2016–2017 Diversity Catalyst Awards, which are sponsored by the Chief Diversity Office and the Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity:

  • Gabby Blanchard-Shreck, police officer, UI Department of Public Safety          
  • Kirk Corey, director of IT, College of Law      
  • Dawson Davenport, student, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences           
  • Amy Lee, assistant dean for research, Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine; professor, Department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics   
  • Denise Martinez, assistant dean for cultural affairs and diversity initiatives, Carver College of Medicine                                 
  • Todd M. Weissenberger, IT accessibility specialist, Information Technology Services

Through their dedication, passion, and collaboration, this year’s winners have pushed for sustained change within training structures, mentorship, web accessibility, and classroom dialog.

The Diversity Catalyst Awards Reception will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, March 27, in the Iowa Memorial Union Second Floor Ballroom.
