UI dedicates its new state-of-the-art and thoughtfully designed Voxman Music Building

It was a packed house for the official dedication of the new Voxman Music Building on Oct. 21, 2016.

The 189,000-square-foot facility, which is centrally located in downtown Iowa City, reunites the University of Iowa School of Music under one roof. The UI School of Music utilized several interim facilities across campus and Iowa City after floodwaters irreparably damaged its previous home along the Iowa River in 2008.

“The arts are back…and better than ever,” David Gier, director of the UI School of Music, told the packed, 700-seat concert hall.
