Eight University of Iowa College of Law alumni were recently appointed to serve on a commission aimed at analyzing barriers some Iowans may face when accessing the justice system.

The Iowa Access to Justice Commission (IAJC) was established by the Iowa Supreme Court to identify the legal needs of low-income Iowans and propose recommendations for innovative ways to improve access to justice for those who cannot afford legal counsel.

Iowa Law alumni on the commission include:

  • Amy Kretkowski (JD ’08)
  • The Hon. Kevin McKeever (JD ’01)
  • Eldwin “Charlie” Nichols (JD ’04)
  • Joel Greer (JD ’78)
  • The Hon. Artis Reis (JD ’76)
  • Elisabeth Reynoldson (JD ’92)
  • Bruce Walker (JD ’72)

The commission will submit an annual report about gaps in service to the Supreme Court on July 1, 2017.
