Ticket sales begin at 10 a.m. online, by phone, and at the Hancher Box Office in Old Capitol Town Center

Tickets for the majority of the new Hancher Auditorium’s opening season go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday, June 10.

Purchases can be made online (hancher.uiowa.edu), by phone (319-335-1160 or 1-800-HANCHER), or in person at the Hancher Box Office, which is located in the Old Capitol Town Center (201 S. Clinton St., Iowa City) throughout the summer.

The Hancher Box Office will have extended hours for the first three days of sales. The box office will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday through Sunday, June 10, 11, and 12. Beginning June 13, the Hancher Box Office will be open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The schedule includes open houses in early September, a free outdoor performance featuring Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue and Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and a gala performance starring Steve Martin, Martin Short, and the Steep Canyon Rangers. Other highlights include the return of touring Broadway performances, concerts by The Cleveland Orchestra, the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, and cellist Yo-Yo Ma and a new Hancher-commissioned version of The Nutcracker choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon for the Joffrey Ballet.

Tickets for The Book of Mormon, the first Broadway show in the new facility, will go on sale on Friday, Aug. 5.
