University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics was named in the most recent Truven Health Analytics annual 100 Top Hospitals study, and also received an Everest Award, which honors hospitals that have achieved both the highest current performance and the fastest long-term improvement over five years.

UI Hospitals and Clinics was one of 15 entities honored in the Major Teaching Hospitals category; the UI was one of only three such organizations on the Everest Award recipient list.

The Truven study incorporates independent public data; proprietary, risk-adjusted, and peer-reviewed methodology; and key performance metrics to arrive at an objective, independent analysis of the best hospitals in the nation. Hospitals do not apply for consideration.
