Elizabeth Reetz, education and outreach program director for the University of Iowa Office of the State Archaeologist, has been appointed as chairperson for the Society for American Archaeology’s Public Education Committee. 

The Society for American Archaeology (SAA) is an international organization dedicated to the research, interpretation, and protection of the archaeological heritage of the Americas. Reetz has volunteered for SAA groups and committees since joining the UI Office of the State Archaeologist in 2013. Her term as chairperson will begin at the SAA annual meeting in Orlando this April and extend until 2019.
