University of Iowa Facilities Management will conduct a series of steam blows near the northwest intersection of Burlington Street and Riverside Drive beginning at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, and ending by 3 p.m.

During this time period, there will be two to three loud steam blows lasting 10 to 15 minutes each. The steam blows will be accompanied by large steam plumes. If wind is a factor, crossing at the Burlington Street Pedestrian bridge might be briefly interrupted until the plume clears.

The steam blows are required to clean newly installed steam piping as part of the Grand Avenue Steam Tunnel Replacement project.
