The University of Iowa will hold the second of two public meetings to discuss the proposed repurposement (Feasibility and Adaptive Reuse Study) of the existing 1936 Art Building (located at 200 N. Riverside Dr., Iowa City).

This second public meeting is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 16, from 6 to 7 p.m. in Room 2520D of University Capitol Centre, 200 S. Capitol St., Iowa City. This meeting is a follow-up to the public meeting held June 18, 2015, in which the University encouraged the public to attend an open house and provide input.

The purpose of this second public meeting is to share the results of the reuse study, which takes into account proposals and ideas expressed at the first public forum. The study identifies options for potential building uses based on how various proposed programs will best fit into the structure. The university intends to use the study and statements collected from the two forum events to assign programs that will best serve institutional objectives. The University of Iowa, along with representatives from INVISION Architecture, who conducted the reuse study, will present diagrams and other pertinent information during the open house.
