The NIH awarded $617,490 to a group of UI researchers including Dr. John Buatti, Tom Casavant, Dr. Michael Graham, and Milan Sonka to continue research titled "Quantitative Imaging to Assess Response in Cancer Therapy Trials."

The study, which will determine the effectiveness of cancer treatment more accurately and earlier using detailed analysis of imaging, is in its sixth year. NIH funding for the project, which began in 2010, totals more than $3.3 million.
