WHAT: Members of the media are invited for a sneak peek inside the Mary Louise Petersen Residence Hall on the University of Iowa campus.

WHERE:   Mary Louise Petersen Residence Hall, 304 Grand Avenue, Iowa City.

WHEN: Between 3:30 and 4 p.m. Thursday, April 16

WHY: To provide an opportunity to view progress on the 501-bed residence hall slated to open for fall semester 2015.

MORE DETAILS: Media should park on the north side of the building in the metered parking spaces. UI Facilities Management will provide access through the north entrance and answer questions. Because this is an active construction site, please note that hard hats will be provided and closed toe shoes are required for your safety. Staff from Facilities Management and University Housing will be on hand to provide access and answer questions.

BACKGROUND: Scheduled to open in fall 2015, the facility will be named the Mary Louise Petersen Residence Hall and will house the Theodore M. Rehder Residential Learning Commons. Petersen was an education leader and Rehder was  a  longtime housing and dining manager.
