Jo M. Hendrickson, executive director of UI REACH professor in the University of Iowa College of Education’s Department of Teaching and Learning, has been awarded the May Brodbeck Distinguished Achievement Award for Faculty. Hendrickson will receive the award at the Celebration of Excellence and Achievement Among Women program and reception on April 8.

During her tenure as director, Hendrickson established UI REACH as a highly regarded national model for serving the post-secondary educational needs of students who have traditionally been excluded from higher education campuses.

At the time of its founding in 2008, UI REACH was one of the first programs of its kind at a major public university.
