In response to the recent retirement announcement from University of Iowa President Sally Mason, the Iowa Board of Regents is moving forward with development of the Presidential Search and Screen Committee to undertake the search process and recommend to the board its candidates for a new president for the UI.  The board has selected Jean E. Robillard, vice president for medical affairs at the UI, to chair the search committee.

As vice president for medical affairs, Robillard oversees UI Health Care, which consists of the UI Hospitals and Clinics, Carver College of Medicine, and UI Physicians, which is the state’s largest multi-specialty physician group practice.  Robillard has held his current position since January 2007 after previously serving four years as dean of the Carver College of Medicine.  Robillard's full biography and a high-resolution portrait can be found here.

“Dr. Robillard is a strong leader on campus and is well-respected across the state.  He will make an excellent chair of the presidential search committee,” says Board of Regents President Bruce Rastetter.

Under Robillard’s leadership, UI Health Care implemented its first ever strategic plan for the integrated enterprise and has expanded medical services to better meet the needs of Iowa’s communities.

The Iowa Board of Regents is a group of nine citizen volunteers who govern the state’s three public universities and two special K-12 schools – the Iowa School for the Deaf and the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School – through policymaking, coordination, and oversight.
